Installing a radiator requires skill and knowledge. It is always recommended to have automotive technician to install the radiator. If you install the radiator on your own then you should follow the steps like it is always best to install dry car radiator. One should carefully check that all car connections fit,fan holes line up and car radiator cap fits. Then you must add fluids to your automatic transmission if it is necessary. You must also know that every car requires a 50/50 mixture of coolant i.e 50% water and 50% antifreeze. It is observed that vehicles have auto radiator caps so there is a chance of air bleeding procedure and this requires a process of replacing ensnared air in your system with the coolant. You must also read and understand the repair
manual as it gives whole information about the installation and must follow the safety procedures in the manual.
Not only installing, but removal of the radiator should also be done in a systematic way. In the process care must be taken that the car from which you are removing the radiator must be kept off for a long time so that the hot part of it becomes cool i.e. coolant is not hot. Hot coolant can cause sweltering that may require a special medical attention. Then eradicate the cap of the radiator with a towel or with a cloth and make sure that the pressure is released out of the system and disengage the negative battery cable. Find the radiator drain plug and in some cases the lower radiator house. Then check the local state laws of proper disposal and storage space of coolant.
Check whether your vehicle has an automatic transmission that has lines connected to the radiator if yes then remove the lines. Then remove the fluid in a proper and systematic way. Then start removing the other accessories like coolant hoses, wire to sensor or fan motors, plastic moldings, mounts, brackets and bolts which are holding the radiator and other automotive parts. Then take care of removing the condenser located in front of the radiator. Normally in AC vehicles the condenser is mounted in front of the radiator so you have to remove the bolts and take it out. Then carefully remove the radiator and the process is over.
